Novine History > People of the Forest

One of the first encounters was that of the Cuivings – a small people native to the great forest. Cuivings are short – no more than 4 feet tall and are easily recognized by their snout-like noses and long pointy ears. They are primitive hunters and gatherers without permanent settlements or written record. Cuivings were the first alien civilization encountered by the Novine explorers and although they would later join the newcomers in their battle against the nefarious Gleyks the Cuiving civilization quickly succumbs to an undeserved fate of slavery in the rapidly growing colonies of the Regno.

The Cuivings have lived here for hundreds of years it seems. Yet they have no cities or libraries to tell their history. They are wanderers living deep within the forests as nomads travelling from place to place and gathering whatever food they can come across in the wilderness. I take it there is a place for every of Gods creations and that the home of the Cuivings is in the avoa for they show no interest in learning our faith or customs. Perhaps they were meant to stay in the woods which becomes them well I might add. Never have I seen a people more keen or fit for hunting and gathering but the small cuivings. Their long snout-like noses although they seem odd to us are quite suitable for surviving in the wild and their small stature enables them to slip unhindered through the dense forests of their homeland.
