Boiler's Lodge

The Boiler’s Lodge also known as the Curia is responsible for medicine, general health treatment, studying alchemy, running hospitals, public baths and keeping the cities safe from beetles and ithe swarms. The boilers are an important asset to both Novine and Khalen society and their primary role is to produce medicine and cures for insect bites. They are a frequent sight in most towns and settlements dressed in dirty green cloaks dragging their cauldrons around the streets filling the air with smoke and incense to keep the carnivorous ithe swarms out of the populated areas. The boiler’s are medics, alchemists and surgeons and can be found running hospitals and public baths. The lodge have members all across the Concordia represented by most of the free races. The Curia is being lead by the Boiler’s Council located in Ceuboca where many of their strangest biological experiments are known to take place.

Boilers have a strong tie with the native Cuivings and Elun People from whom they claim they have gained much of their knowledge. Many boiler masters have delved into the arts of Semviton, Dendron and Enfigea – mystic powers related to the secrets of plants and trees. Their knowledge of herbs, potions and balms is enormous and in the service of the Concordia they have even been known to produce weapons of war in form of poison, diseases and the fabled läggjo arts that enable them to carry living pieces of armour made from wood, bark and roots. The relation with Cuivings and Elun along with their strong beliefs to preserve nature, give land back to the native population and limit industry have often brought the boilers into conflicts with both the Senate and especially the Shaper’s Guild.

Yet although some oppose their beliefs most of the cailorubian population depends on their secretive knowledge of medicine, keeping insects away, and the ever-looming threat that the Curia controls a vast array of diseases and poisons keeps their enemies quiet. It is even said that the infamous Seekers and the Tethar Assassins have secret arrangements with the Curia involving some sort of cooperation.
