Order of the Tome

Ever since the arrival to the new world and the liberation wars against the Gleyk tyrants set the people of Cailorubia free, the riddle of the Pilgrimage have puzzled scholars among both the Novines, Khalens and Blonians. Determined to unravel the truth behind the Pilgrimage and how their ancestors found their way to Cailorubia each of the three great civilizations founded their own institution dedicated to history, myths and archaeology, and as the Concordia united all free races these merged together to form The Order of the Tome.

Founded on the making of The Tome of Nog – a sacred book in which all knowledge of the pilgrimage and the origins of the free races is preserved – the Order quickly became an institution of learning, wisdom and education. From their base deep within the bulging libraries of the Resin Tower (the largest library of the new world) in Askuhir, the Order govern all education, schools and libraries across the Concordia, and their members – the Atuars dressed in white robes have fortified Lore Keeps in most cities from where they spread their knowledge, traditions and doctrine.

Composed from members of the Novine church, the Khalen sun cult and the Blonian Antihapunfila, the Order believe in strict order, tradition, knowledge and science. They are extremely conservative and in their efforts to preach a strict religious doctrine they often dispute with The Dreaming Wheel who they regard as immoral charlatans and rebels. Most Atuars live in small brotherhoods lead by a Loremaster, and although they are allowed to marry they often choose a strict life in celibacy surrounded by scrolls, life long studies and meditation.

Other Atuars have chosen a much different path scouring the known world as adventurous scholars and explorers dedicated to an endless search for ancient ruins, lost texts and relics. Determined to unearth the secrets of the Pilgrimage through expeditions and treasure hunts this branch of the order has earned their title as Sword Sages well. They follow a proud tradition leading back to the Novine order of the Knights Questor known for their intrepid taste for adventure and knowledge.
