Novine History > First Settlements

As they arrived to Cailorubia pilgrims and their families must have marvelled over the new world. Watching the surrounding landscape illuminated by a pale brown sky the first pioneers would find lush forests as far as the eye could see – an unfamiliar place dense with vegetation echoing with the sounds of unknown animals, the air hot, moist and thick with noisy insects! This jungle was to become their home and by time the Novines would name it the Avoa – the great forest – they would learn to live with its dangers, gather its fruits and hunt its wildlife. Yet only little is known about the early Novine settlers who roamed the new world ages before the Regno. Throughout many years remnants of the five tribes gradually began to form small communities and villages. Hard experience and bitter losses taught them how to survive in the new world which turned out to be quite different from the one they left. As the Novine settlements begin to grow the early explorers made their first contacts with several native people inhabiting the Avoa.
