Fragments of this elusive knowledge were later rediscovered as scholars of the old world gained access to ancient texts. It was said to have happened during a series of wars fought by the church against the enemies of God. Who this enemy was has long been forgotten by the Novines yet it seems reasonable to assume that the two civilizations shared a common heritage and that this appointed enemy had somehow preserved the knowledge of the ancients. This way the enigma of the Pilgrimage returned to puzzle the minds of old world scholars and in its wake emerged a new order sworn to guard its secrets from oblivion. It is written that those who guarded the secrets of travelling took their name from a temple sheltering the last remaining gate.
They became the Order of the Temple and the keepers of secrets for they knew that what they had learned was to be hidden from kings and common folk. Years went by and the order flourished and prospered waiting for the day to come where they would solve the puzzle of the ancients. But as time passed oaths were broken, secrets were shared and kings grew suspicious and jealous. Soon accusations fled and people of the old world came to believe that a secret order lived among them poisoning the minds of villagers with word of the great evil one.
Supported by the church a ruler known as the handsome king eagerly began to hunt down the order and their ancient heritage. As lord of the Galia people the handsome king was a serious threat and as a result of his zealous investigations most of the order disappeared from the old world. No one really knows what became of them but new world myths claim that they were the ancestors of all Novines as they finally solved the mystery of the Pilgrimage.So here begins the story of the Novines or the Teuto Novino, the new people as they would soon name themselves. This is the story of how they discovered a place beyond our world, the emergence of the Holy Novine Empire and the colonization of the new world.
