Sar-Khalens
Long ago when the Khalens were known as the Sun-People a terrible curse corrupted their blood turning them into a twisted shadow of their once peaceful civilization. The only thing preserving their sanity now is the daily use of Soma. Those who neglect the tradition become Sar-Khalens, sick and wretched beings driven mad by the ancient curse, yet stronger and more fierce than their civilized cousins.
 Far to the west on the borders of the civilized world lies a boiling cauldron of hatred, a harsh land occupied by bloodthirsty barbarians – the empire of the Sar-Khalens. Ruled by the Meguzir Emperor from his capitol of Sar-Ixar the Sar-Khalen people is a confusing mess of barbarian tribes lead by independent warlords known as Zhengi. Sworn enemies of the Concordia the Zhengi spend most of their resources on raiding the borderlands of the Great Brotherhood. Throughout the centuries a wretched no-man’s-land has emerged between the two warring nations known as Neipautakis, The Land of Tears.
