Novines > Modern Times
Since humans found their way into Cailorubia they have been known as Novines – the new people. Novines are daring explorers, cunning craftsmen and above all – eager conquerors of the new world claiming they rule one third of it after merely 1000 years of diplomacy, wars and grim bargains.
 Today the Novines are consumed with apocalyptic prophecies, mistrust and paranoia. Scared that Gleyks and Gjurons will once again dominate their life, Novines have become a fearful people, suspicious of other races and fuelled by strong religious beliefs. Most Novines have come to accept the rule of the Concordia and enjoy the law and order it provides, but below the surface they envy their mighty cousins, the Khalens, mistrust them and blame them for having robbed the Regno of its independency. Rumours have it that a rebel organisation called the Hidden Dawn Movement is plotting against the Concordia and their followers, the infamous Redmasks enjoy a solid support from the Novine population. The Erua Celta or Hidden Dawn is a secretive organisation and although it is generally known that the Holy Novine Church supports them, it is a fact they will deny at any time if confronted by inquisitors from the Senate.
