Class Levels become important as you progress into a Class Tree. Each Class Tree has 10 available Careers to choose from. The Careers are divided into four Ranks beginning with the Starter Career named after the Class itself, followed by three Basic Careers. To begin a Basic Career you need 5 Class Levels in that Class, and further up in the tree you can gain access to three Advanced Careers that require 15 Class Levels. Finally when you have 30 Class Levels you can train any of the three Specialist Careers. All Careers are balanced in a way that offer enough training for countless Levels and each of them have unique Features, so you will have many choices to make! Higher rank Careers are generally stronger, but do not underestimate the value of focusing on a lower rank Career to unlock its unique Features.

As you can see in the example above, Vyrninhar has 20 Ranger Levels and 40 Warrior Levels. This means he can pick any Basic or Advanced Career from the Ranger Tree and in the Warrior Tree he has access to Specialist Careers as well.
